    Course Description

    This hands-on introduction to sound recording provides students with the skills and tools they need to forge new pathways in multi-media music-making.

    Students from ages 12-18 will learn how to record, mix, produce, and create their own music and sound using state-of the-art recording equipment in Third Street’s new studio.  

    The class runs for 14 weeks and meets once a week for 1h15m with up to two hours of supervised lab time to allow students more opportunities to apply the skills they have learned in class.

    This tailored curriculum will cover Studio Performance Techniques
, DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) Operation
, Signal Flow (Pre-Amplification, Compression, EQ), Mic Placement Techniques
, Audio Signal Editing/“Comping”
, Sound Mixing (Plug-Ins, Outboard), Logic Software Basics, and more.
